The Arizona State Sun Devils (3-1; 2-2 ATS; 0-4 O/U) started their 2025-26 campaign with a four-game homestand. They beat Southern Utah 81-64, Utah Tech 81-66, and Georgia State 75-62 while losing against then-No. 19 Gonzaga 77-65.

The Sun Devils struggled against the Zags, making just 36.2% of their field goals (10-for-30 from deep) and 56.5% of their free throws (13-for-23). Last Monday, the Sun Devils shot 46.8% from the field (4-for-19 from deep) against Georgia State, and senior guard Maurice Odum led the way with 24 points and nine assists.

Arizona State completely changed its roster in the offseason. Odum arrived from Pepperdine, and he’s tallying 14.8 points and 7.5 assists per game for the Sun Devils. The 7-foot-1 freshman center Massamba Diop is posting 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.

Junior guard Adante’ Holiman, a transfer from Georgia Southern, is still recovering from an elbow injury. Last season, Holiman averaged 16.9 points on 38.6% shooting from downtown. The Sun Devils make 33.3% of their shots from deep this season (164th in the country) while scoring 110.3 points per 100 possessions (102nd).

Hawaii aims for its fifth straight victory                                                          

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (4-1; 3-2 ATS; 1-4 O/U) opened the season with a 60-59 road loss against Oregon. Since then, the Rainbow Warriors have won four straight home contests over East Texas A&M 100-74, Mississippi Valley State 88-56, Manhattan 86-56, and Utah Tech 68-62.

Last Sunday, Hawaii failed to cover a 16.5-point spread, making just one of its 14 shots from deep against Utah Tech. The Warriors committed 19 turnovers, but they outrebounded the Trailblazers 39-24 and outscored their rivals 40-28 in the paint.

Senior guard Dre Bullock dropped 23 points on Utah Tech. He’s notching 12.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, while senior center Isaac Johnson is posting 14.8 points and 9.2 rebounds a night.

Hawaii returned 29.1% of minutes played and 32.0% of scoring from its 2024-25 roster. The Warriors rank 128th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency (108.5 points per 100 possessions) and 63rd in adjusted defensive efficiency (101.3).

The bookies expect a tight battle, and I cannot argue about it. On paper, Arizona State might look like a more talented team than Hawaii, but grabbing a win at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu is always a tall task.

The Sun Devils are not a great offensive team, though Maurice Odum is a terrific facilitator. Arizona State leans on its defense, allowing 101.2 points per 100 possessions (59th in the country). The Sun Devils are 30th in the country in defensive turnover percentage (22.5%), and the Warriors turn the ball over on 19.9% of their possessions (268th).

Hereof, I will take the Sun Devils. Both teams are capable of playing tough defense, and I will lean on Odum’s playmaking to make a difference down the stretch.

Over/Under Pick for Arizona State vs. Hawaii

My best bet for this game would be the under on the total. As I said, both Arizona State and Hawaii are capable of playing tough defense, and neither side has impressed on offense this season. Hawaii has scored 86 or more points on three occasions, but games against East Texas A&M, Mississippi Valley State, and Manhattan are not proper benchmarks.

The Warriors are 26th in the nation in opposing 2-point percentage (42.1%) and 17th in opposing 3-point rate (.301). The Sun Devils hold their opponents to 47.7% shooting from inside the arc (99th) and 27.7% from downtown (65th).

Both teams are in the middle of the pack when it comes to pace. The under is 6-1 in Arizona State’s last seven games overall, and it is 4-1 in Hawaii’s previous five.
