Current College Basketball Outlook — 2026–27 Season
The 2026–27 NCAA Division I men's basketball season begins Monday, November 2, with Florida facing Miami in one of the opening-night matchups. The first weeks also feature Arkansas against Virginia on November 8 and Kansas against Kentucky on November 10. These early nonconference games will provide a first meaningful look at rebuilt rosters, new rotations, and teams adjusting to different coaching and personnel combinations.
Our college basketball picks will focus on the actual matchups and available betting lines. Early in the season, returning production and last year's efficiency ratings can provide useful context, but transfers, freshmen, injuries, and changing rotations require a fresh assessment. We examine offensive and defensive efficiency, tempo, shot selection, rebounding, turnovers, and home-court conditions to evaluate the point spread, moneyline, and game total.
As new 2026–27 previews are published, you'll find free college basketball predictions and game-by-game analysis on this page. Check each article's scheduled tipoff, publication date, recommended betting line, and any updates before using a prediction. Until the new season's coverage begins, the matchup listings include archived predictions from the 2025–26 postseason.
Looking ahead, the 2027 NCAA men's tournament will feature an expanded 76-team field, with 12 Opening Round games before the traditional 64-team bracket. Conference play and nonconference results throughout the winter will determine which teams are positioned to compete in that expanded March Madness field.
