Wright State vs Cal prediction

College basketball season has returned, and a non-conference clash on the West Coast should be a good one on Thursday, Nov. 6. Read our Wright State vs Cal prediction along with our NCAAB picks for the night. Wright State opened the season with a big win over a Division III opponent. Cal also secured a major victory against Cal State Bakersfield. This should be a good test for one of the top mid-major programs and an ACC team on the rise. These two teams will meet with tip-off set for 10 P.M. EST.

Wright State middle of the pack preseason pick

Wright State is 1-0 overall. The Raiders opened with an easy win to start the season. Last year, the Raiders finished with a 15-18 record as they bowed out of the Horizon League tournament in the opening round. Wright State was selected No. 7 in the preseason Horizon League poll out of the 11 teams in the league.

In their first game, Wright State defeated NCAA Division III’s Franklin 86-37 on Monday, Nov. 3. It was a straightforward win for the Raiders, who led 36-5 at one point. Wright State shot 49.3% from the field and 35% from behind the arc. They scored 32 points off of 25 Franklin turnovers. Michael Imariagbe led the team with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

Last season, Wright State was led in scoring by Brandon Noel, who now plays for Ohio State. The Raiders' top four scorers from last year’s team have all departed. Solomon Callaghan is a key returning player; he was an all-Horizon League freshman team pick.

Cal looking for better season in 2025-26

Camden, who led the team in scoring in game one, comes from Delaware. He started every game for the Blue Hens as he averaged over 16 points per game. He played sparingly for three seasons prior with Memphis and Virginia Tech. Cal’s big loss was Andrej Stojakovic, who transferred to Illinois. He led the team in scoring last season.

Wright State Raiders vs Cal Golden Bears Picks

Wright State vs Cal Spread Pick

  • Cal Golden Bears -13.5 (5 units)

Cal looked solid in their opening game of the season. They don’t have one pure scorer, but the team is created around many different, equally scoring options. With many new players coming from other Power Five schools, Cal should be able to compete this season in the ACC. In this game, Cal will come away with an easy victory. Wright State has to travel across the country, and they aren’t even a top team in the Horizon League. They had to completely rebuild their roster, too. The Raiders were dominant in their first game over a non-Division I opponent, but in this game, they will be tested, especially on offense. Cal’s defense and the team’s length will be hard to get by, and the Golden Bears should get the blowout win.

Wright State vs Cal Over/Under Pick

  • Under 152.5 (5 units)

The Raiders rank 174th in adjusted tempo according to KenPom. Cal ranks 123rd in the same category. The difference will come down to the defensive end ,where the Golden Bears should shine and slow down a Wright State offense that lacks individual playmaking. Expect a low-scoring game in a blowout victory.

Take the Under.
